ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA announced last week that its Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives will host 20 training workshops from coast-to-coast throughout 2006. The free workshops for credit unions cover significant current issues, including disaster recovery planning, hot regulatory topics, financial education, and due diligence best practices. "I encourage credit unions to participate in a workshop, as these informative sessions provide valuable regulatory guidance and open discussions on important initiatives for your credit union's operations and membership," NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson recommended. The workshops are slated for: * March 4, Dallas * March 11, New York City * March 18, Salt Lake City * March 25, Savannah, Ga. * April 8, Los Angeles * May 12, New Orleans * May 20, Albuquerque, N.M. * June 3, Tampa, Fla. * June 24, Honolulu * July 22, Newark, N.J. * August 5, Jackson, Miss. * August 12, Seattle * Sept. 14, Cleveland * Sept. 16, Philadelphia * Sept. 27, Chicago * Oct. 14, Buffalo, N.Y. * Oct. 14, Pittsburgh, Pa. * Oct. 21, Boston * Nov. 4, Baltimore * Nov. 18, Queens, N.Y.
