VANCOUVER, Wash. – Talk about a great way to end 2005! In a conclusion to its yearlong Hybrid campaign, Columbia Credit Union turned over the keys to a 2006 Hybrid SUV to Judy Halsted who was the lucky winner. Launched earlier in the year, the campaign was designed to promote the idea that service at Columbia CU is a hybrid between convenient online banking and its legacy of superior in-branch member service. Halsted's entry was one of about 10,000 that were submitted for the campaign. She submitted one lucky entry while attending a member appreciation event in October. Attendance at the event was one of 17 possible entries members could acquire during 2005. Members received automatic entries for every personal product or service type they held from Columbia in addition to checking, e-statement (and their membership savings account). Members and non-members were entered by attending educational seminars, attending member appreciation events and completing an online scavenger hunt. CPA firm McGladrey & Pullen randomly drew the lucky winner's name Columbia CU President/CEO Parker Cann said it was wonderful to see Halsted's reaction as he gave her the keys to her new hybrid. "What a wonderful conclusion to an exciting campaign designed to enhance the use of our online services by members," he said. As for Halsted's reaction, she was shocked when she got the call notifying her she was the winner of the vehicle. She said she kept thinking it was a prank call.
