WASHINGON – The National Credit Union Foundation has a record amount, $800,000, available for grants in this next round of funding, but the Foundation also has a record number of grant applications, 54, waiting for a crack at that pool of cash. The NCUF will fund programs which seek to help broaden or improve consumer access to credit unions, further financial education, help credit union members save money or accumulate assets and to help small credit unions develop. “The National Credit Union Foundation is well positioned to assist credit unions in their efforts to invest in their members and their communities,” pointed out NCUF Executive Director Steve Delfin. “And credit unions have stepped up with some very creative programs to serve people of modest means.”
