Merck Sharp & Dohme, North Wales, Pa., has been recognized with a first-place, gold Florence Nightingale Award, by Manna on Main Street, a charitable organization. The award is presented to the local business that raises the most money for Manna, which provides a soup kitchen, food pantry, heating assistance and medical assitance to the needy.The credit union raised $13,915 for Manna in 2004. Manna designated a significant portion of the money to fund its Health and Wellness Center where needy individuals receive medical treatment and prescriptions for nominal fees.
