MADISON, Wis. – Credit unions across the country spread the CU-word to young consumers during the National Credit Union "YOUth Make a Difference" Youth Week, April 18-24. Most credit union events focused on increasing the financial literacy of younger members while building awareness of the credit union difference. This year, credit unions upped the ante by sponsoring the first-ever National CU Youth Week Savings Challenge. Young credit union members deposited well over $1.3 million to their savings accounts, representing an average saving of $81.49 for the week. Here is a glimpse at other CU Youth Week events:
