Primary Payment Solutions and CUNA Mutual are promoting three PPS anti-fraud solutions in a new marketing agreement. They are: *DEPOSIT CHEK, which gives credit unions batch inquiry access to the same information used by the nation's largest financial institutions, including current account status, stop payments and electronic notification of returning checks as soon as a no-pay decision is made. *DECISION CHEK MICR, which is a dial-up check reader that captures check information and responds with account status and stop payment information in seconds. *IDENTITY CHEK Web Service, which helps credit unions screen new accounts online. In addition to validating information such as Social Security and driver's license numbers, it performs logical verification by looking at the interrelationship of individual data elements. It also performs watch list screening. This includes automated comparison to the OFAC list, any internal "hot files" an institution maintains, and in the first quarter of next year it will also include incident records contributed to the Anti-Fraud Exchange.
