HARRISBURG, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Employees CU, the largest credit union in the state and one of the largest in the U.S. will be even larger by 4,800 members by November as a result of its merger with Indiana County Pa. School Employees FCU. The merger of the $26 million Indiana County Pa. School Employees FCU with $1.7 billion PSECU is effective Nov. 1, 2002. Mike Wishnow, press secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Banking said the merger between the two credit unions "was a really good fit" because Indiana County Pa. School Employees FCU's field-of-membership "neatly fit" into PSECU's since it serves many schools and universities throughout the state. PSECU has more than 267,000 members.
