WASHINGTON - Former presidential adviser David Gergen told attendees at CUNA's Governmental Action Conference today that many of the nation's chronic problems aren't being solved because both parties aren't showing enough mettle, leadership and courage.

Having a positive attitude and taking advantage of technological advances will help credit unions grow and play a strong part in creating a long period of prosperity, said CUNA President/CEO Dan Mica.

WASHINGTON -- Credit unions should aim to serve 100 million members by 2015 but should grow cautiously and with attention to safety and soundness, NCUA Board Chairman Debbie Matz told attendees at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference.
