ARLINGTON, Va. Navy Federal Credit Union used today to say thank you, focusing on Member Appreciation Day instead of Bank Transfer Day.

An hour after opening, 10 new members joined San Jose Credit Union and several were waiting outside the cooperatives downtown branch this morning.

Folks were filing into Velocity Credit Unions branches this morning, but its Bank Transfer Day business faced perhaps even stiffer competitions than banks.
