Chetco CU CEO Stan Baron will retire May 1 after 40 years in the credit union industry.

The Ohio Credit Union League unveiled this week what it called a distinctive and innovative fund-raising approach to its foundation.

Taking part in a special “Student Lending Fair,” Pennsylvania credit unions will be showcasing to lawmakers and policymakers next week what they see as an enlarged role in student lending amidst the ongoing state budget cutbacks.

Wanting to help its members between the ages of 17-25 become more financially savvy, Pentagon Federal Credit Union and the PenFed Foundation have teamed up with MoneyU.

In 1985, when Dick Ensweiler’s son was 12, he became interested in baseball cards and started asking his father to drive him to card shows. That was the beginning of a lifelong hobby for the curremnt president/CEO of the Texas Credit Union League.

Looking ahead to the 2012 tax season, the Filene Research Institute hopes to recruit a few more credit unions for a new savings initiative.
