Xpress Data Inc. is sponsoring a chili cookoff for credit unions complete with charitable contributions from the champions.
The San Diego-based provider of electronic correspondence solutions to 130 credit unions, is offering a minimum of $10,000 in prize money for credit unions from California, Arizona and Nevada that participate in the Xpress Data Inc. Credit Union Chili Challenge on Aug. 3 at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack in Del Mar, Calif.
Trophies, bragging rights and prize money to be donated to the charities of their choice await the first- through third-place finishers. The first place team also qualifies to compete at the 47th Annual International Chili Society World's Championship Chili Cookoff in Palm Springs, Calif., in October.
Mike Cooper, president/CEO of XDI, said, "We see it as an ideal venue to display – and taste – some fantastic chili recipes but also help spread the word about the value of credit unions to thousands of consumers at a very popular venue in Southern California."
