Less than a month after announcing a significant merger agreement, the Pasadena, Calif.-based Wescom Credit Union has significantly expanded its field of membership to include 13 new counties, which would bring the credit union’s potential membership to include nearly 27.7 million people in the state.

On Tuesday, officials with Wescom ($6 billion in assets, 224,155 members) said its membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in any of the following additional 13 counties: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, Monterey, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus and Tulare.
