CUNA Strategic Services (CSS), a company majority-owned by CUNA and state leagues that is focused on developing strategic alliances within the credit union industry, announced its newest strategic partner Monday: interface.ai, a Walnut, Calif.-based provider of intelligent self-service solutions for credit unions.

According to CSS, the partnership will give credit unions turnkey access to interface.ai's AI-powered solutions, and was established to help address operational and member service-related challenges that have surfaced during the pandemic. At the forefront of interface.ai's product suite is an AI-powered phone banking solution that can take 100% a credit union call center's incoming calls, increase call center automation and help credit unions build business through upsell/cross-sell tools.

"Since the pandemic, credit unions are observing a sustained increase in call volumes, significant abandonment rates, increased call-wait times, issues with hiring for member support roles and increased instances of fraud," CSS President Barb Lowman stated. "To support credit unions in overcoming these challenges, CSS embarked on an extensive search to identify the ideal technology partner. After a detailed evaluation of numerous players in this space and a stringent due-diligence process, CSS is excited to partner with interface.ai to aid credit unions in meeting the needs of their members in the new normal while enhancing efficiencies and increasing revenues."

Srinivas Njay, founder and CEO of interface.ai, added, "We are honored that CSS has selected interface.ai as the preferred intelligent self-service provider for credit unions. Combining CSS's understanding of the credit-union ecosystem and interface.ai's industry-best suite of products, we aim to help the majority of credit unions leapfrog from digital to intelligent self-service."

interface.ai is the second technology provider to collaborate with CSS to bring AI-focused solutions to the nation's credit unions in 2022 – earlier this week, Zest AI formed a partnership with the Northwest Credit Union Association and California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues, both of which will work with CSS to bring Zest AI's loan decisioning software to credit unions in Western U.S. states.
