A former employee of the $1.7 billion First Community Credit Union in Houston pleaded not guilty to one felony count of embezzlement.
According to an indictment filed by federal prosecutors in Houston's federal court, Claudia Wells, 38, allegedly embezzled $43,000 from an account while she worked at the credit union from May 28, 2019 to June 6, 2019.

Following her arraignment last week, Wells was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
Court documents do not reveal what was Wells' job at First Community.
Her jury trial has been scheduled for November.
