CFPB employees give their leadership a poor review.
If a new survey is any indication, new CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger has her work cut out for her – many agency employees don't have confidence in the agency's senior leadership.
The CFPB conducted a survey of all 1,540 agency employees in August, and 72% of them responded.

Some 54.4% of those responding said they do not have a high level of respect for the agency's senior leadership, while 29.2% said they did.
The survey largely tracks another study released last month by the Partnership for Public Service.
At the time, Acting Director Mick Mulvaney was running the agency, since Kraninger had not yet been confirmed. However, Kraninger has said that she agrees with Mulvaney's decisions, although she abandoned his effort to rename the bureau.
The results may indicate that many of the agency's employees were hired under the leadership of former Director Richard Cordray, an Obama Administration nominee. Under Mulvaney, the bureau has assumed a much more pro-business posture.
In the survey, 83.2% of those responding said they either strongly liked or liked the kind of work they do. Some 86.1% said they agreed or strongly agreed that they do important work.
However, a bit less than a third of those responding said they agreed or strongly agreed that the agency's senior leadership maintained a high level of integrity, while 40.5% strongly disagreed or disagreed with that statement.
And 24.6% said they are satisfied with the bureau's policies and practices, while 48.4 said they were not.
The results came on the heels of another report conducted by the Partnership for Public Service. The group conducts an annual "Best Places to Work" study. This year's results placed the CFPB as second-to-last among mid-size agencies.
In that study, on the issue of effective leadership, the CFPB dropped 15.2 points, to a score of 54.9 out of 100.
Employee views of senior leaders at the CFPB dropped even more – 35.6 points, to a score of 33.8.
