The NCUA Board will discuss the final report of its Regulatory Reform Task Force at its Dec. 13 meeting.

The NCUA formed the task force in March 2017, after President Trump issued an Executive Order requiring federal agencies to find ways to alleviate excessive regulatory burdens.

NCUA, as an independent agency, was not required to comply with that order, but the agency board said it was complying with the spirit of the order anyway.

The board received its first report from the task force in March 2017. The group recommended a four-year plan for the agency to revise its rules.

At its Dec. 13 meeting, the NCUA board also is scheduled to receive a briefing on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology and will consider technical amendments to its rules.
