CUNA said Wednesday it will move into a new office during thespring of 2018 at the 99M building currently under construction atWashington D.C.’s Riverfront neighborhood.

The national trade organization plans to lease22,000-square-feet on the third floor in a building that has beendesigned to meet the LEED (leadership in energy and environmentaldesign) gold standard, which reduces water and energy usage, carbondioxide emissions and improved indoor environmental quality.

“The vibrant neighborhood we’re moving to maintains our closeconnection to Capitol Hill, and I know our membership willappreciate the long-term savings we’ll realize in this new space,”CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle, said in aprepared statement.

Located at 99 M Street, SE, on the corner of First and MStreets, SE, the 11-story 99M building is steps from both the NavyYard-Ballpark Metrorail entrances and seven blocks from the U.S.Capitol.

The new building houses about 220,000-square-feet of officespace, with approximately 11,000 square feet of retail/restaurantspace on the ground floor. The building will also feature a greenroof and rooftop terrace, a tenant-only fitness facility, a securebicycle storage area and four levels of underground parking.
