The Alabama Credit Union Association has endorsed Republican Sen. Luther Strange in this year's special Senate election.

Earlier this year, Strange was appointed by former Gov. Robert Bentley to fill the term of former Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions, who vacated the seat to serve as President Trump's attorney general.

The primary election will be held on Aug. 15 and if no candidate in the primary receives 50% or more of the vote, a runoff will be held on Sept. 26. The general election will be held on Dec. 12.
