Miserable at work? It could cost you big time if you jumpship too early to retire and get away fromit.

So says a Motley Fool article on Madison.com. Citing aConference Board report that more than half of Americans are“actively unhappy at work,” which could lead them to make someless-than-prudent decisions about sticking with the job, thearticle says that such was not always the case.

In fact, in 1987, the trend went the other way, with more than60% of workers saying they liked their jobs.
