This past week, CU Times readers contemplated the current and future political landscape. In addition, some appreciated the coverage of biometrics. Here's what they had to say.
"Member Data and Analytics Hold Untapped Potential," Oct. 19
Like you said, credit unions have a lot of untapped potential to use data to improve their marketing. For example, I've had a lot of conversations lately with credit union marketers about website personalization. In live tests on two credit union websites, so far we've seen that personalization increases interaction and conversion rates. Website personalization is just one way I think we're going to see credit unions get better at using data over the next few years.

"Credit Unions More Bipartisan Than Banks in Political Giving," Nov. 1
As a former board member, that was one of my greatest criticisms of the credit union world – fence walking! They should be more united in doing what is best for the nation, not just for a particular credit union and locale.

The credit union trade associations' political action committees have a lot of explaining to do as to why they are supporting any Democrats that support the awful Dodd-Frank Act and the highly-partisan, still-controversial and probably unconstitutional CFPB. These Democratic politicians are supporting a federal agency that is systematically killing off the credit union industry via the crushing regulatory burden and its horrific social re-engineering of the financial services marketplace.

"Biometrics: The Next Big Thing," Nov. 2
As someone who delivers leadership and communications training for credit unions, I'm always looking to stay on top of trends for CUs. And WOW, Roy, is this biometrics thing so cool! When you mentioned it helped CUs be more productive, I didn't see it at first, but you explain very well the benefits to speed in authentication. And the fact that 97% would use it again attests to its value to both members and CUs. Quite an interesting read! Thank you!

"90-year-old Woman Sues NCUA for Lifesavings Lost in Fraud Case," Nov. 4
She doesn't stand a chance. Whether the person is nine days or 109 years old is of no relevance. All the NCUA cares about is its fund.

If by hook or crook Hillary Clinton should steal the presidency, HR will be working night and day to implement insane policies, procedures and rules. The opposite will be the case if Mr. Trump is victorious.
