Credit union leaders know staying ahead of curve with core technology is essential to providing a competitive member experience, but they must do so with fewer resources than the biggest banks have. That's where technology partner organizations, and people like our latest Shared Accounts With CU Times guest, current Fiserv SVP and former Q2 executive Ahon Sarkar, come in.

In this episode, we learn about the new Fiserv initiative Sarkar was recently hired to run: agentOS, a governed operating system that helps financial institutions overcome the challenges of creating and using AI agents across the different facets of the institution. He also touches on the things credit union executives ask their vendor partner for the most when it comes to core systems, the connection between banking technology and member trust, and Fiserv's future plans for agentOS. Later in the show, he gets philosophical as we discuss conscious AI entities from popular movies and what makes a human a human.

We also get to know Sarkar on a personal level as he shares plans for his upcoming move from Long Beach, Calif., to New York City for his position at Fiserv with his wife, Kari, their young daughter and two dogs. Perhaps most fascinating of all, we learn that he and Kari are musicians who comprise the electronic duo Ahari (a combination of their names). You can check out their 2024 album, Duality, on Apple Music here.
