The CFPB has announced the appointment of eight new members toits Credit Union Advisory Council.

The council and several others formed by the agency provide guidance to the CFPB.

“The Bureau's advisory board and councils play an important rolein making sure that the Bureau is taking into account the widevariety of perspectives and views in the consumer financialmarketplace,” said CFPB Director Cordray. “The new additions beingannounced today bring experience and knowledge that will helpinform the CFPB's work going forward.”

The council is scheduled to meet on Sept. 1 to discuss debt collection andyouth financial capabilities.
