I wish Sarah Cooke all the best in her new endeavors in publishing.

I had the privilege of being Sarah's editor at Credit Union Times as she covered the dynamic Washington, D.C. beat. Publisher Mike Welch and I were committed to investing in editorial to ensure Credit Union Times covered every aspect of the credit union system.

We had high standards and adhered to old school journalism standards. In this day of tweets and quick headlines, sometimes stories don't get the thorough coverage they deserve. Sarah's work was anything but superficial. She was always thoughtful, objective and comprehensive.

Those in the publishing game understand the beauty and fright of deadlines.

At Credit Union Times, we were always passionate about waiting until the very last deadline moment, just before the presses were plated, to bring readers the latest news. Often those deadline stories were coming from Sarah and the D.C. beat. She was always cool under the pressure and was committed to delivering on our very high standards of editorial excellence.

Sarah, I wish you well.

You don't need much luck given your talent and eagerness to learn new things, but I'll offer it anyway—good luck!
