The boards of directors for the League of Southeastern Credit Unions, its subsidiary LEVERAGE, and the Southeast Credit Union Foundation each approved a $5,000 donation last week to the OneOrlando Fund.
The $15,000 donation, which was announced during the general opening session of the Southeast Credit Union Conference and Expo, will support the victims and families of the June 12 terrorist shooting at an Orlando nightclub that claimed the lives of 49 people.
"The outpouring of support from Orlando area businesses is on display," Patrick LaPine, president/CEO of the Southeastern league said. "The Walt Disney Co. has contributed $1 million to the fund. In addition, eligible donations from Disney employees will be matched dollar for dollar."

LaPine also noted that the Orlando-based Darden Restaurants national chain has contributed $500,000 and the Orlando-based Magic NBA team and JetBlue airlines have each donated $100,000.
"If your credit union or staff is interested in making a contribution to the OneOrlando Fund, you can find more information to OneOrlando.org," he said.
The funds are administered by the Central Florida Foundation, which serves as the region's community foundation of more than 400 charitable funds.
