Avadian Credit Union partnered with Magic Moments to surprise 17 year-old Garret McQueen with a dream come true.
McQueen was recently diagnosed with Lukemia, a cancer that produces abnormal white blood cells which make it difficult for the body to fight infections, control bleeding and transport oxygen. The active Curry High School student and basketball fan had to be homeschooled as his chemotherapy treatments had taken a toll on him. One of McQueen's favorite television shows is The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic books written by Robert Kirkman depicting the human drama following a zombie apocalypse.
Avadian Credit Union staffers and several students from the Key Club at McAdory High School dressed as zombies to deliver the news McQueen would be going to meet The Walking Dead cast and tour the set.

"We were so committed and honored to present Garrett with this moment. For many of us, we weren't even familiar with the show. It was just a great opportunity to be able to partner with Magic Moments to give Garrett and his family something exciting to look forward to. We hope this trip is a welcome diversion and an experience he'll never forget," Stanton Davis, senior vice president, Avadian CU said.
