CUNA marked the 20th Anniversary of raising funds nationally tobenefit the Children's Miracle network in a big way during itsGovernmental Affairs Conference.
|CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle presented Joe Dearborn, seniordirector of Credit Unions for Kids, with a check made out toChildren's Miracle Network Hospitals for $150 Million.
|The generous donations, raised a dollar at a time, go to therespective credit union's local CMN Hospital and help supportlife-saving research, new facilities, equipment, patient services,and health education programs benefitting 10 million childrenannually.
|John Schneider, best known as co-founder of Children's MiracleNetwork and role as Bo Duke in Dukes of Hazard, sent a specialvideo message as an introduction to the presentation, thankingcredit unions for their support. He noted that while he'sappreciative of the funds, he's not surprised since helpingcommunities, especially the underserved, is “in credit unions'DNA.”
