Cardtek, a Chicago-based fintech software developer, hasintroduced a new card issuance platform called CHIPXpert –Issuance, which the company said offers financial institutions afaster, cheaper option for chip-enabled card printing.

According to Cardtek, CHIPXpert – Issuance evolved out of anexisting product, Palmaris, which is designed to assist financialinstitutions with the EMVmigration. The company said the new solution is not only easyto integrate into existing systems, but can be installed in oneclick, and incorporates various requirements for instant cardissuance and printing services in a single software application.Due to the speed of the installation process, CHIPXpert – Issuanceis an efficient alternative to other solutions that require weeks'worth of labor to set up, Cardtek said.

Cardtek recently adapted CHIPXpert – Issuance for its long-termbusiness partner, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based, fintech solutionsprovider FIS Global, which has been using Cardtek's cardpersonalization and printing solutions since 2012.

Designed to serve both financial institutions and card printingcompanies, CHIPXpert – Issuance allows a wide range of customers tomeet a variety of requirements through its upgraded, contemporarytechnical infrastructure, Cardtek added.

With at least 167 million adults in America using at least onecredit card, Cardtek said its goal is to give the industry amuch-needed facelift and to assist relevant parties with making theOctober 2015 EMV transition deadline.

There are currently 1.8 billion U.S. payment cards incirculation, according to Federal Reserve Payment Studies.Approximately 600 million Americans are projected to receive an EMVchip card by the end of 2015, according to the Princeton Junction,N.J.-based Smart Card Alliance.
