AMOCO Federal Credit Union staffers have rallied to provide support for a police officer's family.

A longtime veteran of the League City Police Department, Marty Grant, has been one of the $662 million credit union's police officers for six years. When staffers at the credit union headquartered in Texas City, Texas, learned that Grant's son Rory had been diagnosed with cancerous grade 3 brain tumors they expressed their solidarity by baring their heads, sending well wishes and flowers.

It's something that has struck a chord among the team as several staffers have battled and survived cancer themselves.

Doctors at MD Anderson confirmed that his seizure had been caused by multiple cancerous brain tumors and surgery was needed. As if brain surgery wasn't enough of a challenge, he went through it awake. To date, Rory has undergone 33 radiation treatments and is currently receiving chemotherapy.  Support from his friends and family has kept him in good spirits. The Grant famlly has learned to make the most of milestones, such as when Rory rang the bell to mark finishing radiation treatments (pictured left).

A benefit for Rory has been planned for  Saturday, May 9th at Butler Longhorn Museum in League City. The benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and  donations will go toward helping with the family's ongoing medical expenses.
