Eric Church was appointed president/CEO of the $936 million First Financial Federal Credit Union of Maryland, the Lutherville, Md.-based cooperative said in a prepared statement Tuesday.

He replaced Rob Windsor who retired as president/CEO in June.

"Eric has been with us at First Financial for many years. He served as our interim CEO since July and has been our vice president of finance and information technology since 1994," Robert Brenneman, First Financial board chair, said in a prepared statement. "He has been an integral part of our growth and success over the years."

Church helped grow the credit union from $200 million in assets to just under $1 billion, according to First Financial.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics with certificates in accounting and finance from the University of Maryland.
