The team at Mid-Atlantic Corporate has walked a mile a day to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. 

With a dual goal of promoting a healthy, active lifestyle while raising money for the thousands of sick and injured childen at CMN Hospitals, some 13 employees at the Middletown, Pa.-based corporate took part in the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' Miracle Marathon campaign. 

From Sept. 16 to Oct. 12, Miracle Marathoners ran, walked, biked or hiked, a mile a day at their own pace and on their own time, logging a total of 26 miles.

As a way to build awareness, at 2:27 p.m. on the final day of the marathon, all East Coast participants began their final 1.2 miles.

"The recurring theme for the Miracle Marathon is 'for the kids,' and that's exactly why we wanted to participate in this great cause," Erin Doan, administration/community relations director, Mid-Atlantic Corporate said. "It's a very simple concept – moving for one mile a day – but it makes such a huge impact for the kids."

Each individual participant in the Miracle Marathon had a goal to raise at least $272. The Mid-Atlantic Corporate team raised $1,352, which was donated to the local CMN Hospital, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

The nationwide event raised over $660,000.
