Matt LevandowskiThe $367 Heritage Family Credit Union announced Wednesday that Matt Levandowski will be promoted to president/CEO.

He will succeed long-time President/CEO Ron Hance, who plans to retire in January 2015 after 36 years of service.

Levandowski currently works as SVP of retail and marketing at the Rutland-Vt.-based Heritage Family. 

He brings more than 21 years of leadership experience to the cooperative's top job.

“We chose Matt as someone who would maintain the culture of our credit union and provide the kind of quality service our members expect as owners of their credit union”, Tom O'Brien, Heritage Family CU's board chair, said in a prepared statement.

Levandowski received his degree in business administration from Central Penn College in Harrisburg, Pa. and worked for VF Corporation prior to moving to Rutland, Vt.  He also earned his Credit Union Development Educator designation in 2010.

“It is an exciting time at Heritage Family, and I am looking to the future of our credit union with great expectations while remaining true to our heritage and the mission of people helping people,” Levandowski said in a prepared statement.  “I am committed to ensuring that Heritage Family continues to be our members' most valued, convenient, and trusted financial partner for life.”  

Chartered in 1956, Heritage Family CU serves more than 39,000 members and operates nine branches.
