The $1.4 billion American Eagle Federal Credit Union in East Hartford, Conn., announced Thursday that William J. Dokas would retire on Jan. 2, 2015. Dokas has worked at the credit union for 42 years, including 24 years as president/ CEO.
Dokas began his career with the American Eagle in 1972 as a management trainee. He became a loan officer and then a branch manager. In 1980 he became vice president of lending and branch administration and then president/CEO of the then-$270 million credit union in 1990.
Dean Marchessault, the current EVP/COO, will become president/CEO on Jan. 3, the announcement said. He has been with the 103,200-member American Eagle since 2000.
