Retail investment clients at credit unions can now capturedocument images via their mobile devices and send them to financialadvisers. The service was made possible by a new mobile app fromsister companies CUSO Financial Services LP and Sorrento PacificFinancial LLC.

The firms have launched SendMyDocs, which allows a client tosnap a photo of his or her personal account documentation, securelycaptures it, uploads it automatically into dataVISION, and alertsthe client's adviser of the new document, according to CFS.

The San Diego-based companies said dataVISION is theproprietary, web-based account management system used by thecompanies' advisers to simplify administration, communications,sales and reporting functions.

SendMyDocs makes it easy for clients who live a far distancefrom the bank or credit union to set up and support theirinvestment accounts, CFS said. It is available for any iOS orAndroid device user, including iPad, iPhone, Android and othersmartphone or tablet devices.

CFS and SPF said they will offer training on the appvia online modules. Advisers can also set up clients to use it.

Mitzi McMillin, senior vice president for business systems atboth companies, said the new SendMyDocs app directly supportscustomers' mobile strategies.

“We see the benefits to efficiency that technology creates andwe will continue to add advancements that can increase convenienceand ease for both clients and advisers,” McMillin said.

The SendMyDocs app is the second mobile document imagingapplication released by CFS and SPF in the past year.

Mobile Scanning App enabled the companies' advisers to transmitdocumentation immediately while they were meeting with clients,directly into the dataVISION system. It won a Technology Innovationaward from the Bank Insurance & Securities Association inMarch, CFS and SPF said.
