Two Portland, Ore.-based agencies that serve the financial services industry have merged.

Creative Brand Communications, a brand development firm, has consolidated with PixelSpoke, a digital marketing agency, said Jeff Stephens, founder/CEO of CBC.

The consolidation will combine CBC's brand development services with PixelSpoke's technical expertise in digital marketing.

Stephens said the two firms merged because the brand environment for credit unions has evolved over time and now requires a heavy digital focus.

"We believe the digital space is no longer an 'extension' of a credit union's brand it's the 'default' place that brand now lives," he said.

The combined agency works with more than 40 financial services companies across North America, including credit unions and community banks ranging in assets of $50 million to $10 billion,

The new agency will be led by PixelSpoke Founder/CEO Cameron Madill while Stephens will be available as a senior consultant for PixelSpoke's financial services clients.
