With an agenda packed with ways CUSOs and credit unions can enhance collaborative connections, discover innovations and build thought leaders, the National Association of Credit Union Service Organizations is gearing up for its annual conference.
The group will meet this week at the Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. After years of holding its national gathering in Las Vegas, NACUSO is forging new territory with a new venue.
Among the keynote speakers scheduled to speak at NACUSO's conference are Robert Herjavec, pictured at left, who is one of the judges on the popular ABC television show, Shark Tank.
He will also sit on the judges' panel for the Next Big Idea competition. In collaboration with the Filene Research Institute, NACUSO will seek out the best ideas that aim to help a credit union or CUSO improve earnings and capital to support growth and returns to members, enhance member service, deliver new products and/or services as well as improve delivery channels to their members.
NCUA Board Member Rick Metsger, along with several senior-level officers from the agency, will also speak.
In a sneak peek video of the annual conference, NACUSO President/CEO Jack Antonini said Metsger's attendance is perfect timing because it will still be within the comment period for the risk-based capital rule proposed by the NCUA.
The conference's breakout sessions will follow several tracks: investment services, property casualty insurance, member business lending/business services, mortgages, operational and IT, and entrepreneur/board/CEO.
Antonini said because Disney's organization has 60,000 employees and attracts 60 million visitors a year, NACUSO will host a special session to find out how the iconic company makes it all happen.
