Jim Buchheim, who served as vice president of public relations and communications for 23 years at CUNA Mutual Group, has left the company to work for American Family Insurance.
Buchheim joined the Madison, Wis.-based CUNA Mutual in 1990 as vice president of communications overseeing the media relations department for the company.
He left CUNA Mutual in early September for a similar position at American Family Insurance, which is also based in Madison, Wis., Rick Uhlmann, senior manager of media relations at CUNA Mutual, told Credit Union Times.
According to Buchheim's LinkedIn profile, he is vice president-communications at American Family Insurance.
It was not immediately known if a successor to Buchheim had been named.
Buchheim's departure came two months before CUNA Mutual announced on Nov. 8 that President/CEO Jeff Post will retire at the end of the year. Robert N. “Bob” Trunzo was named by the company's board of directors to succeed Post effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Post, who served at the helm since 2005, said he would help Trunzo and the company with the board and management transition through July 2014.
Trunzo previously served as president of CUNA Mutual Group Insurance and Financial Services.
