U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud (D-Maine) shakes hands with John Murphy, president/CEO of the Maine Credit Union League, after receiving the league’s for his candidacy for the 2014 Maine governor’s race. The endorsement was announced last week during a league board meeting. Michaud is a former board member at the $61 million Eastmill FCU in East Millinocket, Maine. When he was first elected to Congress in 2002, he was the only credit union board member serving there. The general election is next November and Michaud is widely expected to be the Democratic nominee. "From his time in the state legislature including serving as Senate president to his six terms in Congress, Congressman Michaud has been a great friend to Maine's credit unions,” said MCUL President/CEO John Murphy.
