WASHINGTON —Visa said it has changed its Visa AdvancedAuthorization program to help credit unions and other card issuersdetect fraud more quickly.

The new advances will allow card issuers, including creditunions, to more reliably know which transactions to decline in realtime, potentially reducing fraud by billions per year, while moreconfidently approving legitimate transactions to remove frictionfrom payments for merchants and consumers alike, Visa said.
