The $5.1 billion Digital Federal Credit Union said this weekthat more than 100,000 of its 399,000 members now use remotedeposit capture technology to deposit checks to the creditunion.

Working with EasCorp's Vertifi software arm, the Marlborough,Mass., credit union was an early adopter of RDC technology, firstoffering it to desktop scanner users in March 2008. EasCorp beganoffering the service several months earlier.

Adoption has grown since then, along with the technology, andmore than $1 billion has now been deposited through PCs, iPhonesand iPads and Android phones and tablets, the credit unionsaid.
