The $108 million CPCU Credit Union in Somerville, Mass., has added mobile banking.

The 10,000-member credit union is offering the service – available by smartphone or tablet browser or app and by SMS texting – with technology from Online Resources Corp., the credit union said.

“It became apparent to us during our review of a member satisfaction survey that our members were seeking alternative banking options, specifically mobile banking,” said CPCU CEO Rui Domingos.

Along with banking functionality, the service offers security features that include limiting only the phones that are specifically enrolled in text banking to access account information through that channel, and the ability to have CPCU's e-banking team disable the service for phones that have been lost or stolen, the credit union said.
