Janice Sheppard, senior vice president of mortgage lending andcompliance for the $283 million Southwest Airlines FCU, willtestify Thursday before the full House Financial Services Committeeon the topic of secondary mortgage market reform. Sheppard, whose Dallas credit union is located inCommittee Chairman Jeb Hensarling's (R-Texas) district, willrepresent NAFCU.

The hearing will examine the discussion draft of the Protecting American Taxpayers and Homeowners Act of 2013, ayet-to-be introduced bill supported by the GOP that would wind downFannie Mae and Freddie Mac within five years.

According to a release from the committee, witnesses will beasked about their opinions on the draft and the overall need forhousing finance reform.
