The Senate Banking Committee failed to achieve quorum Tuesday tovote on a pending group of six nominees that include Richard Metsger, nominated to join the NCUA Board.
The inability to achieve quorum isn't necessarily a bad sign forMetsger's confirmation, because the group also includes a morecontroversial appointment, that of Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.),nominated to serve as director of the Federal Housing FinanceAgency.
According to a release from the committee, the group willattempt another vote during an executive session, open to thepublic, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
