Members of the $48 million HealthNet FCU in Cordova, Tenn., don't need to feel down in the dumps about their auto loan. That's the message William Whitten, president/CEO of the 6,600-member credit union, wanted to get across by using the gates of the trash area members see every time they go through the HealthNet drive-through.
“At HealthNet FCU, no open space is taken for granted! We like to call this, 'Dumpster Marketing,'” said Christina Bolles, the credit union's marketing coordinator. “For those of you that have a standalone branch, why are you not using such a valuable space? Your members drive past every time they visit the drive through. Shouldn't they see something that will actually get their attention and benefit them? Eventually, it will sink in.”
