The $308 million CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union in Alexandria, Va., is now offering mobile check depositing to its 34,900 members.
CommonWealth One is using technology from Intuit Financial Services to offer the mobile remote deposit checking service to Android and iPhone users, and said its check volume from that channel doubled in the first two weeks that it was added to its existing online scanner RDC service.
Members were used to test the functionality before its launch. The launch of the Mobile MyDeposit service was announced on Facebook after teaser announcements were made in the credit union's quarterly newsletter and in a video message to members by President/CEO Charlotte Cash.
“Our members have requested it and we are pleased to offer it as part of our commitment to their financial well-being as their lifetime financial partner,” Cash said. “Whether our members are busy professionals, on-the-go parents, or full time students at our James Madison University branch, they can now save time with the convenience of Mobile MyDeposit.”
