FHFA Acting Director Edward J. DeMarco announced Tuesday the agency has hired two new deputy directors, who will lead divisions responsible for Housing Mission and Goals, and Supervision Policy and Support.

Sandra Thompson will take over the Housing Mission and Goals division in March. She comes to FHFA after 23 years at the FDIC where she was most recently director of Risk Management Supervision.

"I am pleased to welcome Sandra to FHFA where she will play a leading role in developing and guiding FHFA's policy efforts concerning housing finance and financial markets," DeMarco said. "Sandra's breadth of experience at the FDIC, including supervision, consumer protection, risk management and consumer outreach activities will be an asset to FHFA as we contribute to building a new infrastructure for the country's housing finance market."
