About two months after signing a 12-year, $1 million presenting partnership agreement to install a vintage carousel, the $1.2 billion Gesa Credit Union in Richland, Wash., on Monday signed an 11-year, $1 million naming rights agreement with the Power House Theatre in Walla Walla, Wash.

On Oct. 16, Gesa CU agreed to a presenting partnership with the Carousel Foundation to construct a facility and install a vintage 1910 Charles Carmel Carousel in Kennewick, Wash. The facility will be named “The Carousel of Dreams Presented by Gesa Credit Union.”

Gesa CU's agreement with Power House Theatre gives the credit union exclusive naming rights to the theater, including Gesa Power House Theatre signage to be installed on the building following installation of a new roof.

Many other elements of the theater's ongoing extensive remodeling project will be funded in large part through Gesa's financial commitment, the credit union said.

Additionally, of Gesa CU's $1 million commitment, $250,000 will be used at fundraising events benefiting the theater or specific capital campaigns to enhance the theater's facilities as an incentive for future donors to have their contribution dollars matched, Gesa CU said.

“Gesa Credit Union is excited to partner with the Power House Theatre to strengthen and grow professional theatre performances for audiences in Southeastern Washington,” said Christina Lethlean, Gesa CU president/CEO.

“Supporting a vibrant performing arts organization, such as the Power House Theatre, aligns with our credit union's core values. We look forward to developing this partnership and deepening our relationships within the community of Walla Walla,” Lethlean said.

The first production to be performed at the newly named Gesa Power House Theatre will be It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play opening Friday.
