American Eagle Federal Credit Union, East Hartford, Conn., has named Edward Fox senior vice president/chief lending officer. Most recently, Fox worked as a consultant in collaboration with the NCUA. Fox will now be responsible for the overall operations for consumer, real estate and commercial lending functions, including strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, loan origination, loan servicing, compliance and collections. Fox earned bachelor of arts degrees in economics and history from the University of Puget Sound.
Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union, Geneva, N.Y., has named Timothy VanDerlike as risk management officer. VanDerlike has been with the credit union over 12 years serving in various capacities, most recently in the role of operations specialist and will now be responsible for the areas of compliance and security. VanDerlike served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, including a seven-month deployment to Iraq.
First Financial Federal Credit Union, Wall, N.J., has hired Rick Avelenda as a network administrator. Avelenda was formerly employed by United Teletech FCU and is a Microsoft certified professional and comp TIA A+ certified. He received a bachelor of science degree from Monmouth University in addition to a certificate of networks and programming from Brick Computer Science Institute.
GFA Federal Credit Union, Gardner Mass., recently approved the promotions of four branch managers to assistant vice president. The four promoted are Betty Anders, Lynn Hebert, Robert Jumper and Edmond Perry. Anders joined GFA in 2007 with a background in retail, mortgage and business lending. She has been a driving force in growing the Pearson Blvd. branch with a strong focus on member service, the credit union said. She attended Assumption College and Fitchburg State University where she studied accounting and information technology. Hebert joined the GFA team in 2006. She has been instrumental in the Rindge branch development since it opened in 2006.The Rindge branch has experienced continuous growth under her leadership and guidance. Hebert attended Northeastern University where she majored in business management. Jumper began his career with GFA in 2006 and serves as the branch manager of the credit union’s main office. Hebert graduated from Mass Bankers School for Financial Studies and attended Westfield State College and Suffolk University where he majored in business management. Perry joined GFA in 2007. Since that time, he and his team have increased member satisfaction, grown the loan portfolio and have inspired membership growth. Perry has recently been transferred to the Ashburnham branch.
HVFCU Financial Services, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., a division of the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, announced the appointment of Reid Jecmen as a financial consultant based in its Montgomery, N.Y., office. Jecmen is experienced in retirement planning, estate planning, insurance and wealth management for individuals and businesses. He is also certified by the New York State Insurance Department as an approved long-term care and life insurance professional.
Island Federal Credit Union, Hauppauge, N.Y., announced the appointment of Miguel Ocasio as branch manager. Ocasio is responsible for the supervision and management of the staff and branch operations. Ocasio brings a dozen years of financial services experience to his new post. He has also held positions at the Dime Savings Bank of New York, Washington Mutual and Chase and Capitol One Bank.
Western Division Federal Credit Union, Williamsville, N.Y., announced that Katherine Kaus has joined the credit union joined as Lending Manager. She previously served as chief lending officer at Lake Shore Savings Bank. She brings more than 26 years of experience to her new position.

Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, Anchorage, Alaska. has hired Steven Larson as its senior vice president of mortgage finance and servicing. Larson will oversee the mortgage loan servicing and real estate accounting activities of Alaska USA’s mortgage and real estate operations. He has more than 10 years of experience in accounting and business management. He most recently served as vice president, controller, and business manager for CH2M/NORCON/VECO in Anchorage. Larson also worked as an assurance associate for worldwide accounting firm KPMG LLP. Larson holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Oregon Institute of Technology. Pacific Service Credit Union, Walnut Creek, Calif., announced the addition of Chris Oldag as chief lending officer. Oldag replaces Robert Finnegan who retired in May of this year. Prior to joining Pacific Service Credit Union, Oldag held the position of executive vice president at City County Credit Union, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Oldag served as the senior vice president, lending at Patelco Credit Union for more than two decades. Oldag is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College and the credit union executive development program at Stanford University. He is a member of the CUNA’s lending council executive committee.
Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., has announced the hiring of Rick LaFave as their director of mortgage lending. In this new role, he will oversee Ent’s mortgage production and servicing departments. LaFave came to Ent from H&R Block where he served as a district manager and franchise consultant for five years. LaFave has a bachelor’s degree from William Carey University and has been in the financial services industry for more than 14 years. He has also worked in the credit union industry for nearly four years, serving as the mortgage lending manager at Bellco Federal Credit Union.
Mountain America Credit Union, Cedar City, Utah, has named Stephen Hyde manager of its second branch. Hyde has been assistant manager of the first Cedar City branch for the past seven years. A ribbon cutting and grand opening for the new Cedar City South branch took place last month.
Numerica Credit Union, Spokane, Wash., has recently named three new branch managers, two of which were promoted from within the credit union. Jeremy Wheeler was recently promoted to branch manager of Numerica’s Coeur d’Alene branch. He has worked for Numerica Credit Union for the last 10 months. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and his master’s in business administration from Saint Martin’s University. Jenifer Piper was promoted to branch manager of the Wandermere branch. She has worked in the banking industry for over 10 years. Four of those years have been spent with Numerica, most recently as assistant branch manager of the Wandermere branch. Tim Schartung was recently hired as the branch manager of Numerica’s Lyons branch. He has worked in the financial industry for 20 years and held management positions with Avco Financial Services, CitiFinancial and most recently at Chase Bank as a personal banker/branch manager. He obtained his associates degree from Everett Community College.
Numerica Credit Union, Spokane Valley, Wash., announced that Ken Oliphant was recently hired as branch manager of the U-City branch. Oliphant comes to Numerica from Bank of America where he held the position of branch manager. Oliphant began his career at Washington Mutual. He was part of the Washington Mutual conversion to Chase Bank and has been managing for the last three years. Prior to his financial career, Oliphant obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Eastern Washington University.
Security Service Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., announced that Melissa Grier has been promoted to assistant vice president of member service for the southern Colorado mountain region. Grier will oversee all member service activities for the southern Colorado area, including cash operations, new accounts, lending, and staff development. Grier has been employed with SSFCU for the past 16 years. Prior to her new position, Grier served as the manager of SSFCU’s Powers & Barnes location.
The Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., announced that Peter W. Snyder has been named vice president of financial services. In this role, he will lead the credit union’s investment and insurance services departments. He previously led the Golden 1 financial services team as vice president and chief operating officer from 1989 to 1997. Snyder has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Snyder holds a bachelor of science degree from California State University, Fresno.

Corporate Central Credit Union, Muskego, Wis., has recently promoted Jennifer Woznicki to vice president member relations. She will lead the member support areas, manage third-party service partner relationships, and be responsible for successful service implementations working closely with existing members and future members joining new services. Woznicki began her career at Corporate Central Credit Union in 2000 as director, marketing and education.
Landmark Credit Union, New Berlin, Wis., announced that Adam Newman joined the credit union as vice president, business lending manager. Newman spent the last 16 years of banking experience developing and managing a portfolio of corporate and real estate clients. He received his undergraduate degree from Lawrence University and his MBA from UW-Milwaukee.
United Federal Credit Union, St. Joseph, Mich., has appointed Jeff Curry to the position of vice president of operations. In his new role, Curry will develop and execute the credit union’s business operations plan. Curry’s financial background includes shareholder investor relations with Express-1, and previous employment with Shoreline Bank. Curry earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kalamazoo College.
Veridian Credit Union, Ankeny, Iowa, announced that Srinivasa Sastri Siravuri has recently been hired to the position of vice president of information technology. Siravuri was previously a senior manager at Rockwell Collins. He has a master’s from Ohio State University and a doctorate from the University of Cincinnati.

Corporate America Credit Union, Irondale, Ala., announced it has enhanced its risk management and internal controls infrastructure by hiring two new staffers. Barbara Medley is the new enterprise risk management specialist. She also will serve as acting chief risk officer. Medley holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Rachel Dodson joins CACU as internal auditor. She has a master’s degree in accounting from Auburn University.
