When Hurricane Sandy makes landfall, its slow-moving track couldclose the stock exchanges Tuesday.

The New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and the CME Group, which operates the New YorkMercantile Exchange, are all closed today. However, electronictrading is scheduled to continue with the NYSE, according toofficials.

Located in downtown Manhattan where mandatory evacuations wereordered over the weekend, the NYSE said it has not closed due toinclement weather since Hurricane Gloria occurred in 1985.
