The $1.6 billion, 144,000-member Apple Federal Credit Union in Fairfax, Va., said it has been selected as the exclusive provider of banking services to George Mason University.

Fairfax-based GMU has more than 33,000 students at its four locations, nearly 3,000 academic staff and thousands more other employees and alumni. Apple FCU has been serving the university for more than 35 years.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to deepen our relationship with the Mason Nation,” said Larry Kelly, the credit union's president/CEO. “We are continuously looking for new and value-added ways bring our niche product and services to the education community. This development presents a tremendous opportunity to do just that.”

Apple FCU has moved to a new branch facility on the main campus and has access to 10 ATMs, along with campus locations in Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William Counties.

“With a larger, more accessible branch space, and improved ATM availability, we will be able to offer a wider range of services to our GMU members,” Kelly said.
