The $54 million Stamford Federal Credit Union in Stamford, Conn., said it now is the first credit union in its market to offer mobile banking to its membership.
The 4,700-member SFCU is headquartered in the Stamford Government Center and serves city employees and their families.
The mobile banking service is on the mFoundry platform through the credit union's core processor, COCC of Avon, Conn.
The service includes SMS text banking, a browser-based application and downloadable apps for Apple and Android devices, the credit union said. The service launched in mid-August and SFCU said it expects 3% of its membership to be signed up by the end of this month.
“Given the widespread popularity and use of mobile devices, we are excited to provide the tools members need to manage their finances in ways that make sense for their busy lives,” said SFCU President David Lucas.
